On October 5, 2024, The Colony, Texas, witnessed an incredible event at Topgolf as we celebrated World Meningitis Day with the first-ever expansion of the Shots 4 Meningitis charity golf outing. With a more-than-sold-out group of enthusiastic participants, we came together not just for a day of golf, but for a powerful cause—to raise awareness and funds to help defeat meningitis.
The day was packed with excitement and purpose. We heard inspiring, personal stories from meningitis survivors who shared their journeys and the lasting impact of this disease. These stories, along with informative literature on meningitis symptoms, treatments, and prevention, left a lasting impression on everyone there. This event wasn’t just about raising funds; it was about making meningitis awareness a priority for everyone who attended.
Attendees were treated to a memorable visual display, as we proudly showcased the official meningitis flag, reminding us all of the importance of this cause. Additionally, we had the honor of presenting the State of Texas Proclamation that officially recognizes October 5th as World Meningitis Day. This recognition is a significant step forward in bringing attention to the disease and the urgent need for education, resources, and support for survivors and families.
With contests for the best bays, the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and a Hole-in-One Challenge, the event was filled with friendly competition and excitement. Participants competed for incredible prizes valued at over $4,000, making the day even more memorable. But perhaps the biggest reward was the sense of unity and purpose we all felt, coming together to spread awareness and fuel the fight against meningitis.
Thanks to the generosity of both our attendees and our wonderful sponsors, we raised crucial funds that will go directly to supporting meningitis research, survivor support programs, and continued education efforts. This success has given us tremendous momentum, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event on October 5, 2025. We’re expanding Shots 4 Meningitis across America, bringing this meaningful event to Topgolf locations nationwide.
