Regina Mitchell, a classically trained chef and hospitality professional, holds degrees in Culinary Science, Psychology and Neuroscience. She is now furthering her education at Harvard University Medical School in Culinary Health Education in the field of Culinary Medicine.

During her nearly thirty year career she has worked under the tutelage of master chefs, celebrity chefs, and restaurateurs nationally and globally. As an entrepreneur, she developed team building culinary experiences for Fortune 500 corporate executives and would later work in the hospitality industry at the MGM Grand Hotel and Resorts properties in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2012 Regina was diagnosed with bilateral Panuveitis. For the next several years she navigated unfathomable losses, adjustments and lifestyle dynamics between the sighted world and the new world and language of blindness. Challenging, absolutely! Character building,absolutely!

In this season, Regina is not only a conqueror but a converter, using skills as a chef to teach livestream cooking classes, intuitively, to blind and low vision individuals to gain confidence and independence in their kitchens.

As a community leader, she serves on the Board of Directors at Blindconnect Mobility Training Center, National Federation of the Blind of Nevada, NFB in The Kitchen Group, Chair and Faculty in Residence and mentor to university women leaders at University Nevada, Las Vegas, Women In Research Program.

Regina has been married to her husband Stan for thirty-seven years, chasing sunsets and enjoying Sunday afternoon toast and tea!
